The Environment

En Croup Bas is located in the southern French Occitanie region in the department of Tarn which is named after the river. The Tarn gorge is spectacular with many small villages perched high on its banks. The general landscape is varied with valleys, mountains and lakes, medieval villages, waterfalls, caves, castles and ruins. The cathedral in the bastide city of Albi sits high and proud, and next to the gallery of Toulouse Lautrec who was born nearby. The whole region is rich in nature, culture and history.

The property is three miles from Puylaurens where you will find artisan bakers, grocery stores, fuel and all manner of shops. It is about 20 minutes from the beautiful market town of Revel with its central covered square with weekly Saturday market. A further three miles from Revel is the amazing Lake Saint Ferriole with sandy beach, swimming, pedaloes, dinghy hire, etc. There is a picnic area with tables and benches among the trees, and many bars and restaurants along its edge.
